Governments and big business is finally waking up to the fact that one day, very soon, we are going to run out of fossil fuels and with energy demands growing daily, and the time to take action is now!

Big oil companies like Shell and BP have started solar power divisions, and even the church is paying attention! It was recently reported that the Vatican, the stronghold of the Catholic faith, and the smallest state in the world, has installed huge banks of solar panels on its roof!

So why so much global attention? Why is solar energy receiving so much interest from power players around the globe?

Well, the simple answer is that as long as the world has existed, and as long as it is going to exist, the sun will be there. It is dependable. Every day, it rises, and every day, it sets.

There is no risk of ever running out of sunlight, as there is of running out of oil, gas or coal reserves. It does not need any help from us to get to where it needs to be, unlike the huge pumping operations fossil fuels require, and there is no equipment, or cost, required to get it there!

In fact, there is no margin of human error involved in delivering the suns rays to energy consumers whatsoever.

If anyone followed the news about the South African energy crisis, they would have seen reports about what allegedly started it all - a stray bolt in a reactor at the country’s only nuclear power station. That one bolt and the person responsible for it ending up in the reactor, according to reports, sparked one of the most financially crippling spate of blackouts that country had ever seen.

So, it’s cheap, clean, has an infinite supply, almost completely maintenance free, and does not rely on humans for supply, so there’s no danger of an accident or mistake.
